    Hi everyone,

I wanted to reach out and get a census of cardiac resources different hospitals utilize? Are there patient education websites you recommend? Any beneficial CHD pictures for new hires to help educate? Youtube videos?

    Thank you in advance.

Hi Maghan! When I started as a new graduate nurse I was introduced to an app called “Heartpedia” that was created by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The app contains 3D pictures of a variety of heart defects pre and post repair with descriptions and videos. It was useful for me to visualize the anatomy of cardiac patients and would be useful to help patient families visualize their child’s heart as well. They do not have every possible defect, but they have the following: ASD, AVSD, Co-Arc, Ebstein’s Anomaly, HLHS, Interrupted Aortic Arch, PDA, TAPVR, Tet, TGA, Truncus Arteriosus, VSD. I think this would be a valuable resource for new nurses and patients alike!
